ASEAN FILM FESTIVAL (AFF)

IN 16-17 November 2011, will be held Asean Film Festival (AFF) in Bali. This film festival under the theme "ASEAN: The Global Film Connection" which will play the 10 films from 10 ASEAN member countries.

In addition, Asean Film Festival also has two other major events, namely seminars that discuss various issues within the scope of ASEAN cinema and also the red carpet reception and gala dinner. Indonesia as chair of ASEAN this year, who suggested the existence of this film festival, would also not be separated from state support other ASEAN Member Countries.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Mari Elka Pangestu said that AFF has a strategic value to develop a network of creative industries. "AFF has a strategic value to foster and develop a network of creative industries, in order to build solidarity between countries in the ASEAN member countries in the development of creative industries that are currently dominated by countries like the United States, India, Japan, and China," he explained, in Kemenparekraf House news conference, Jakarta, Thursday (11/10/2011).

Let's also hope the AFF may be able to give space to the film Asean to contribute not only as supporting pillars of the ASEAN Socio-cultural society but also for ASEAN economic community development.
