"This research is based on the user's behavior and lack of law enforcement in the use of illegal software," said Secretary General of the Anti-Counterfeiting Indonesia Society (MIAP) Justisiari P. Kusumah in Jakarta, Thursday (16/2).
Kusumah who is also Indonesia's attorney said the BSA, BSA conducted a survey to 400-500 respondents in 32 countries. Other results show a global basis, based on research by BSA as much as 47 percent of personal computer users worldwide use illegal software.
"Furthermore, Indonesia was ranked 11th by the number of illegal or pirated software usage by 87 percent," he said.
It was based on the use of illegal software / pirated, IDC (International Data Corporation), in 2010 Piracy Study released in May 2011. Meanwhile, several other studies on the 2010 state fake software products into one product that many consumers use Indonesia during 2010, which amounted to 34.1 percent.
According to him, the argument that says counterfeiting and piracy activities have helped the country's economy and creating jobs is an invalid argument.
