WHOS DOES NOT KNOW THE NAIF's BAND?

Naif's Band is a group of Indonesian music pop formed on October 22, 1995 in Jakarta and consists of "David" Bayu Danang Jaya (vocals), Mohammad "Emil" Amil Hussein (bass, keyboards, vocals), Fajar "Jarwo" Endra Taruna / Mr. J (guitar, vocals), Franki "Pepeng" Indrasmoro Sumbodo (drums, percussion, vocals).

Starting at an art college in Jakarta, precisely in Cikini Raya 73, Jakarta Arts Institute campus (IKJ), NAIF is formed. The story begins when some of the freshmen class art education often often stay at their friend's house in turn. The initial goal is simply to do the coursework together. But at the end that happened instead they often play the guitar, singing all night, until sometimes even forget to do the work because of sleep. Who would have thought it would be a beginning of their careers in the world of Indonesian music.

Sometime in mid-1995, David, Pepeng and Jarwo overnight at the home of a friend, who was none other than Shendy (now the band's bassist Rumah Sakit). As always first just to do the coursework, and ends as usual that has been mentioned earlier. On the same night they suddenly make a song, inspired by an acoustic concert Nirvana on MTV that they have seen before. The song eventually they called Jauh (Naif, the debut album).

At the next moment they were growing fad often they rent a studio for band practice and sing songs made them as inserts. At the moment this is the formation began to change, only three people who survived from the beginning, namely Jarwo, David and Pepeng.Until one day come to fill the void Chandra followed Emil. Five of them each does have experience ever incorporated in a band. Even before this formation they formed separately ever jamming too, like for example, David had joined in a single band with Emil without Jarwo and others, and subsequently as interchangeable only.

With the position of David on vocals, Jarwo on guitar, Chandra on the keyboard, Emil on bass and Pepeng on drums, they began to actively fill IKJ campus events. Other songs had followed its own creation, like Hate Holiday, Picnic '72, and others. While the name Naif opinion obtained from a friend named Dodot who assess their songs sounded so simple, but still contained and harmonious sounds. In addition Naif said was easy to remember.

Sometime in 1996, Naif had heard from a friend that a record company labeled Bulletin (PT Indo Semar Sakti) plans to release a compilation album. Being interested in the project so they offer demo tapes they have made prior to the recording company.Unexpectedly it turns out the producer did not enter the Naif in the compilation project, but instead intend to make their own recordings to Naif. Of course it was greeted warmly by Naif, and after going through certain procedures Naif finally entered the studio and managed to spawn with Naif debut album as a song Mobil Balap.

Naif never claimed to them that is the band with the flow of this or that, whatever their music connoisseur says about the kind of music that their stretcher. They really do not like boxing music, because to them basically all types of music are the same, namely a collection of entertainment media in the form of a number of tones that can be enjoyed by all levels of society. Only the tip depends on the tastes of each individual who listens to music. which obviously they offer a different color alternatives in terms of the selected sound. They like mengulik sound-sound vintage of their respective instruments, combined with the vocal tones of David, as well as some additional arrangements such as harmonization choir and so on. And that's what characterizes their music. That's because they happen to love music old music which then influence the music they make. However do not rule out the possibility of their music will flow to follow the time but still retain their characteristics, because somehow they remain modern children, who live and socialize in modern times as well.
